We're excited to invite you

Welcome to Covered in His Dust!

Over the next six days, we’ll be sharing stories from our ministry as part of our end-of-year fundraiser. But don’t worry—Acts Chapter 16, Part Two, is coming your way on Saturday!

Really?
It's 2025?
Where did 2024 go???
Seriously.

When a child turns one, they’ve lived about 1/80 of their life so far. At that age, the years seem to drag by. By the time someone turns 58 (me), they’ve lived around 58/80 or 72.5% of their life. Each passing year feels smaller compared to all the years before it, which is why time seems to move faster as we get older.

In 2024, I decided to harness the power of how quickly time passes and use it to my benefit.

On January 1st, I started writing and publishing a Bible study newsletter. Each week, I spent 10-15 hours diving deep into the Gospel of Luke and then the Book of Acts. I won’t lie—it was tough at first. I made a commitment not to rush and to take the time to research everything I didn’t understand.

The newsletter is extensive, averaging 1,500-1,800 words. Over the year, I’ve covered 24 chapters of Luke and 16 chapters of Acts. What began with 0 subscribers has grown to 849 readers across 15 countries and 21 U.S. states.

What's my point?

I can't believe it's been one year! It went fast!

My experiment worked! I barely remember the work I put in over the last 12 months.

To put that in perspective:

This is what 850 people look like—850 people deeply engaged in studying the Word of God each week.

Imagine the impact we could have if we made a monthly commitment—both financially and through prayer in 2025.

What if we stretched ourselves, trusting God to provide,

one
month
at
a
time?

By the end of the year, you’d look back and see the incredible impact you’ve been part of—lives changed, families fed, and the Word of God taking root in hearts across the world.

We’re excited to invite you to our annual fundraiser, which starts...

Right now.

For the next six nights, we’ll send an email every night at 6:15 PM Colorado time and 7:15 PM Guatemala time.

For the past 12 years, we’ve been working to raise boys to be men of God and to serve the underprivileged of Guatemala.

This year, we set a goal to raise $135,500 to cover our operating costs and keep the work going—and we can’t do it without your help!

That’s a big number. I know. Huge.

👉🏽 It pays the salaries of 15 employees.
👉🏽 It provides daily meals 5 days a week for all staff and students.
👉🏽 It stocks our food pantry to serve families in need.
👉🏽 It funds our program for widows and single moms, delivering food, firewood, and medical care.
👉🏽 It helps provide medical care for those in crisis.
👉🏽 It supplies water filters and clean-air stoves throughout the community.
👉🏽 It covers the cost of curriculum and professional services to stay in good standing with the Guatemalan government.
👉🏽 It covers utilities, internet, and insurance.

As King David prepared for the temple that Solomon would build, he prayed,

"But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand." 1 Chronicles 29:14

Can you picture it? King David, standing before the people, overwhelmed with joy at being allowed to give. Begging to be part of what God is doing. And then marveling that God says, “Yes, you can.”

That’s exactly how we feel about the work God is doing here in Guatemala. It’s not something we could ever do on our own. It’s only by God’s provision—and your generosity—that we’ve been able to teach the Bible to boys, care for widows and single moms, and feed families in need.

That number represents faith.

Set an alarm for the next six nights, and look for a new email. Then... sincerely pray about how you can join us.

If you've never partnered with us, this might be your year.
