Meet the graduating class of 2024
Day two of our annual fundraiser
I received an email last night that blessed me, and I can’t keep it to myself—I have to share it with you:
“Hi George, I don’t have a lot to give, but I’m so thankful for the opportunity to give what I can (sent $60 just now via Venmo). It feels like a laughable amount, given the goal you have set. I love you, your newsletter, and the light it has been for me as I’ve recently restored my faith in Christ this past December.”
You need to hear this: your $60 matters. Every dollar matters.
This is where we stand:
Our goal is to raise $135,000 to cover the operating costs of this ministry. Before we launched this fundraiser, someone donated $10,000 to be matched! Then, shortly after, another incredible person stepped in and offered to match up to $5,000!
That means the $60 donation was actually $120.
Last night, $1,620 was donated—and matched dollar for dollar, bringing the total to $3,240!
But there’s still work to do. We have $13,380 yet to be matched.
Momentum is building...
The Best Day at the El Rosario Christian Academy
Graduation day
After three years of hard work, today was a day to celebrate—and to be celebrated.
Our school is small, so graduation feels personal. It’s an intimate time of reflection, a moment to pause and honor the journey these boys have been on.
When I stood up to speak, I looked at the parents and said:
"Raising good, God-fearing kids who are healthy, hardworking, and kind is one of the hardest and most important jobs we have as parents. Your boys were a joy to have at our academy. Thank you for trusting us with your sons. You should be proud of the work they’ve done here."
Then I turned to the boys:
"I'm proud of you. Every one of you put in three solid years of work. As you leave today, know this—you are well prepared. When you go to high school, you’ll be leaders in your classes. Be humble. Remember the help you’ve had here, and always be willing to help a student who’s struggling."
"One day, you’ll finish your studies and get a job. I hope that for you. I hope you get to do hard work you love. And then, maybe way down the road, you’ll get married and start a family. You’ll have your own little home and maybe even a car or a motorcycle."
"You can have all of that—I believe that for you, and I want that for you."
Then I looked at each boy directly in the eyes:
"But hear me on this—you can have all of that, but if you don’t have Jesus, you won’t have anything at all."
"Remember the scriptures. Remember the conversations we’ve shared. We’re in this world for just a moment—a mist. Somos pasajeros en esta tierra—this isn't our home, we’re just travelers passing through."
"yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes." James 4:14
"But the other side of that truth is this: if all you have is Jesus, it’s enough. He is enough."
We established the El Rosario Christian Academy with one thing in mind: to raise boys to be men of God.
A side benefit is that they’ll also receive a really great education. Small classes mean they get a lot of attention and individualized tutoring when they struggle. We believe that every student deserves to be seen, heard, and encouraged to grow into who God created them to be.
But what truly sets us apart is this: they begin every single day soaking in the Word of God. It’s the foundation of everything we do. This summer, we offered a Bible study for all students who wanted to attend—grades 7th through 9th. It was completely optional. And yet, every single boy came.
Every.
Single.
One.
The reality is that we don’t know the Lord’s full plan. We plant the seeds, and God is the one who makes them grow. Our job is to be faithful, to teach, to guide, and to pray. The results are in His hands.
What we do know is this: when we plant seeds in faith, trusting God to water them, incredible things can happen.
These boys are not just growing in knowledge—they’re growing in their understanding of who God is.
Every lesson, every Bible study, and every moment of prayer, is a seed planted in their hearts. And we trust that, in God’s perfect timing, He will bring about a harvest for His glory.
Tonight, I want to introduce you to the graduating class of 2024.
When you support Ordinary Missionaries, this is what you’re part of—helping boys who will grow to lead their own families and set an example of faith in Jesus Christ for their children someday. You’re not just changing their lives; you’re impacting generations to come.
