Romans
We have a date!
"When disciples followed a rabbi, they followed him closely so they would never be out of his sight, never be someplace where they couldn’t hear him speak. They followed him so closely that his sandals often kicked up dust."
May you be covered in His dust.
If this is your first time receiving Covered in His Dust, WELCOME. I’d love to hear where you’re reading from. Just reply and let me know.
If you’re new here, welcome.
Every week, I spend 10–15 hours with one chapter of the Bible.
I pull it apart.
I dig into every word.
And then I put it back together so it’s clear, raw, and alive.
What started with zero readers grew to 850 by the end of 2024.
Now—just eight months later— 3,211 of you, from 23 U.S. states and 22 countries, open these notes every week.
We have a date!
On October 4, we’ll begin the book of Romans together.
That’s huge. And honestly? I’m both excited and nervous.
Excited because Romans is one of the most powerful, life-changing books in the Bible. Nervous because the weight of teaching it feels heavy.
To give you some perspective—one of my favorite pastors, John Piper, spent 8 years and 8 months (April 26, 1998–December 24, 2006) preaching 225 sermons through Romans in a series he titled The Greatest Letter Ever Written.
I won’t take 9 years, but you get the point. This book is deep.
So mark your calendar. October 4. Romans. I can’t wait to walk into it with you.
Imagine reading Romans together—and the one person who needed it most never got the invite.

Why the break?
I didn’t begin writing for thousands of people.
I began writing for myself.
The Bible had come alive, and I couldn’t stop talking about it. Night after night, I’d sit with my wife and share what I was learning—verse by verse. Eventually I realized I had to share it with you too. So on January 1, 2024, Covered in His Dust was born.
Since then, we’ve walked through every chapter of Luke and Acts. And it’s changed me. What started as simple devotionals has grown into something more—a commentary for the rest of us.
That’s why I’m taking this short break. I’m going back to the beginning, editing and rewriting Luke to the standard I know God is calling me to. When it’s done, I’ll release it as a digital book you can keep, read, and share.
These weekly notes will stay what they’ve always been: free. And together we’ll get ready for Romans.
One last thing.
Romans starts October 4. Do you really want to walk it alone? Invite someone to walk with us. 👉 HERE.
I love you,
George
